OK wow are these cheaply designed. The actual “color” coverings are a piece of paper taped, yes taped with 2 pieces of scotch tape onto white plastic. They are designed so poorly, as soon as we used them the color paper covering flew accross the room and the dog got it! HAHA they lasted all of 5 minutes. Dont waste your money!! What a piece of junk!

I purchased this for my son for Christmas to go along with the Force Unleashed game. It looked like it would be really neat, so I hope it works well for him.

These Glow Sabers are well designed for the Star Wars crowd. Similar to Vader’s and Obi-Wan’s sabers; however, THE BLADE COLORS SHOWN IN THE AD ARE MADE FROM A SLIP ON SLEEVE OF CHEAPLY MADE PAPER. The color portion is obviously an afterthought, and not even well executed. That’s too bad because the saber handles are much nicer than the competition’s. Thrustmaster would do well to offer replacement blades in color (blades disconnect and are not saber specific, so this wouldn’t be a huge manufacturing issue). UPDATE!!!! As mentioned by many other reviewers, the paper on the blades is for in-box display (the LED’s inside the blade provide the color). My mistake, although Thrustmaster’s documentation really said nothing about it. Anyway… have not yet used them, but have compared to others. Most are about the same size and weight and not nearly as cool to look at!

NO FUN! POOR QUALITY!
I was really excited to use the saber accessory with my recent purchase of Star Wars the Force Unleashed. I played the game for a bit first and then opened up these sabers to add to the fun. WRONG!
The saber felt kind of cool in my hand at first but there are so many moves that the Force Unleashed game calls for that don’t work with the long sword – seems to get in the way a little. Then add the quality issues and you have a real stinker.
I noticed that the color was simply clear plastic wrapped around the extending plastic tube that creates the “light saber” asthetic. The clear, colored plastic was scotch taped together to form fit the tube and flew off every time I swung the saber. Worse, it wasn’t even wrapped evenly making it feel cheaper and less fun. Without color the saber looked like a white plastic tube and was even more disappointing.
Then, to try and salvage ANY fun I added batteries for the light-up effect. Both sabers didn’t respond in any way to brand new batteries. I attempted to install them in every possible combo and it just didn’t light up.
It was a sad experience all the way around and I would recommend that people stay far from these toys. NO FUN! POOR QUALITY!

The sabres look cool and heavy duty, but are actually cheap in all aspects. The color of the sabre is presented by a colored piece of cellophane wrapped around and taped to the white tube with the end open. It would have been much nicer if the tube plastic was colored. Also the led lights do not work very good, Infact the two sabres I bought have already stopped working and have not been touched by my kids after the fist 3 days. The only thing that keeps me from throwing them away is I might be able to use them for halloween props! The space where the wii remote fits into is not snug and the construction/design of the sabre itself hinders the signal for the wii remote and the signal is lost at times. SAVE YOUR MONEY.
