  1. My daughter LOVES to cheer with this Wii game. She says that it is challenging and fun!

  2. If you are looking for a genuine cheerleading experience for your Wii, then this game is it. !!!!!

  3. Daughter and friends have enjoyed this game. Found it to be a little more difficult than they had anticipated which is not a bad thing. Challenges make it more of a workout than just a game. Recommend for your cheerleader to be.

I agree with the other comments that the corded nunchuck is really limiting (wish I had a cordless one!) Some of the moves don’t register, which is pretty frustrating.

The music is okay, but a little generic.

I had no trouble getting started and customizing my character. There weren’t a ton of choices for customization – I made a cute cheerleader, but she didn’t look all that much like me! Unlocking more outfits is probably fun, but I don’t think it has more choices for the body of the character.

Every screen takes a really long time to load, at least 20 seconds or so. While this doesn’t seem so long, it really starts to add up. Want to do a practice? Hang on 20 seconds. Want to do the next practice? We’ll be right with you… Want to do a tryout? Just one moment, please…

My major problem with the game came when my BF tried to play it. (I coerced him in trade for agreeing to play RockBand!) He set up his character and went to the first practice. Several times at the same place during the initial tutorial (“This is a cheer line!”) the game hung up the entire console. We had to hard reset and start over again. Tried this a couple of times with the same result in the exact same place. I set up another character in the #3 position to see if it would work and everything went smoothly. He tried again – locked up. He made a new character in the #4 spot, locked up again! Either the even numbered spots all lock up, or something else triggers it (choosing a male? the goatee?!?!) He played on the character I set up on #3 (female) and everything went smoothly. VERY frustrating! I guess he’ll just have to be a girl ;)

I’m only on the practices and tryouts section, so I’ll give it more time before I completely write it off. I found this game on clearance at Target for $9.98, so I think it was worth it, but I wouldn’t pay much more for it. Haven’t tried it with the balance board yet, but from the other reviews, I think it will be more waiting and less actual cheering.

  5. As previously mentioned in other reviews and on comment threads, this game is a little tedious to use with the balance board since it has to calibrate before every practice and tournament. However, I started using that time to stretch and work on real jumps behind the board. Some of the other complaints before is that it is like directing traffic. I felt that way in the easiest mode…put it on expert and you will be challenged! I haven’t tried choreographing my own routine yet, but I’m having a pretty good time in the career mode. I highly recommend getting a wireless nunchuk for this game. Overall, this game could have been better, but it is still fun and a lot better than some of the other third-party sports games.
